Susie Shapiro-Laidlaw

Founder

Susie has spent her life following her passions.  She is a serial entrepreneur and a wellness and spiritual arts junkie. At age 16, she had launched three fun and successful businesses; a rather eclectic mix of modalities (sailing, hot fudge and floor art). After graduating from college with an art history and art administration degree, and uninspired by the corporate world, she went on to grow a successful farm-to-table catering company.  While catering high-end weddings, she juggled three seasonal lobster shacks on Maine harbors.  After 14 years in the food industry, she closed the doors abruptly after realizing the health impacts of ongoing stress.  The Maine epicurean world continues to be a passion, but on a different level; the pleasure of enjoying food around a table or fire pit with family and friends has brought the balance she was searching for.

After learning the importance of pacing herself, slowing down, being present, realigning priorities, and connection to self, she was able to wholeheartedly focus her energy on her family.  With time, she found alternative, naturopathic and spiritual medicine to guide her to improved mind-body health.

She feels that her journey has brought her to redirect her entrepreneurial spirit once again. Unfold is a manifested dream that she imagines and hopes will be a life changing experience for others.

Jessica Day

Jessica Day is an Astrologer, Parenting Coach, Integrative Health Coach and Educator.  She is passionate about helping people stay connected to themselves and their soul’s path via the cosmos and healing through parenting/re-parenting themselves (with deep self-love and acceptance).

Jess fell in love with astrology as a young teen and started her more serious studies over 15 years ago. Most recently her training with Debra Silverman has been the most impactful. Debra’s applied astrology approach blended with psychology and a non-traditional, honest and direct style provided new life into an ancient practice.

With an MFA in Education and having been an educator for 25 years, Jess fell in love with this practical and depthful approach to astrology. Her intention is to empower her clients to take the information of their birth chart/blueprint and apply it to their lives. Jess weaves her knowledge of coaching, active listening and teaching into a soul centered astrological reading. Her goal is to connect on a deeper level and initiate healing, allowing space for laughter and accepting yourself just as you are- permission to be YOU (what a relief!).

Jess believes in peaceful parenting, compassionate communication, and emotional intelligence- as this can help us heal and evolve as a collective. Being a mom of two teenagers, living astrology daily, and her history of being a music & movement educator and play advocate, have been her greatest avenues for healing and wholeness. Her life’s work is to empower families by bringing love, joy and hope to the children and the generations to come.

Offering: 30min readings of astrological birth chart (needs 24/48 hours advance notice) with birth date/year, location (city/state/country), and time of birth

Kristen Johns

Kristin is a certified yoga instructor who lives right here on the beautiful coast of Rockport, Maine. She spends much of her time outdoors in nature and can often be found paddling, kayaking, or leading yoga classes down in the Rockport harbor. She moved with her family to the Midcoast in 2015, just after obtaining her RYT 200 through Southern Star Yoga Center in Oxford, MS. She still vividly remembers her first yoga class about 20 years ago in a small candle-lit room. The poses seemed awkward and she couldn't touch her toes, but after class she had a feeling of calm that she had never felt before; her swirling mind had finally begun to slow down.

She was hooked. It didn't take long to figure out that the practice of yoga was way more than just a physical one, but a complete package for the mind, body, and soul. Kristin believes that practicing yoga can change the way you live, move, breathe, and perceive the world around you. Yoga is a journey that continues to grow and develop over the course of a lifetime. Even though she has been teaching classes for almost 10 years, she knows there is still much to learn about this amazing practice, but she is happy to share with others what she has learned along the way.

In her classes, Kristin focuses on the connection between the mind, the body, and the breath to create a mindful flow which helps to calm, strengthen, open, and decompress, leaving you feeling centered, grounded, and whole. Through consistently bringing our awareness to our breath, by continuously coming back to our center, we open ourselves to the present moment both on our mat and in our daily lives. Rumi said, "There is a way of breathing that is shame and a suffocation, and there is another way of expiring a love breath, that let's you open infinitely."

Offering: Kristin will be offering a power packed yoga class and hands on one-on-one instruction.
